SPARKS, Nev. (AP) - Authorities in the Reno-Sparks area are urging residents to be on the lookout for a telephone fundraising scam.

Police say unidentified callers have been asking for donations on behalf of the Sparks Fire Department. They say the calls are not legitimate.

They say neither the fire department nor the Sparks Firefighters Association is soliciting donations.
